Life's too short for...
… bad coffee.
So I decided a few years ago not to compromise. Rather have tea or water than instant coffee or even just bad filter coffee. It’s just not worth it. I figure there’s a finite number of coffee drinking occasions in your life… so don’t waste an occasion on a bad cup.
This morning I made a pot of espresso and for some reason, it was bad… it smelt...

More than 5000 friends on Facebook
Did you know, you can’t have more than 5000 friends on Facebook? It’s a technical and self-imposed limit Facebook has enforced to make sure their servers don’t have the same problem Twitter’s servers do. Seems like a good idea. Surely 5000 friends is more than enough?

Yeah, something like that.
Kevin Maney - Stern School of Business: "In 2007, Amazon had a phenomenal year. Revenue grew 38 percent—is that the right number?"
Amazon's Jeff Bezos: "Yeah, something like that."
Kevin Maney - Stern School of Business: "Aren’t you supposed to know?"
Amazon's Jeff Bezos: "I’m thinking a few years out. I’ve already forgotten those numbers."

President's Remarks to the Press Pool
THE PRESIDENT: I need some ribs.
Q: Mr. President, how are you?
THE PRESIDENT: I'm hungry and I'm going to order some ribs.
Q: What would you like?
THE PRESIDENT: Whatever you think I'd like.
Q: Sir, on homeland security, critics would say you simply haven't spent enough to keep the country secure.
THE PRESIDENT: My job is to secure the homeland and that's exactly what we're going to do. But I'm here to take somebody's order. That would be you, Stretch -- what would you like?

What Top Creative Minds Are Doing With Their New...
by Steve Mathew
I was sent this link by a colleague. Good article and really creative sites referenced in the article.
This is what I wrote back to her:-
Some good creative sites in this article. One thing about all of them, was that they were “remarkable” - i.e. you would actually take the trouble to remark about them to someone. That’s the 1st rule of spreading the virus -...

May 1st is RSS Awareness Day - big deal.
Actually, yes, big deal. I am continuously amazed at the number of my friends and associates who either don’t know what RSS is or do, but don’t use it. I was saying to one of my Fireworkx colleagues the other day, that RSS is the internets’ less sexy and poorer cousin. It’s a pity. It’s so versatile. I find I am using RSS...
The first rule of b2b selling
If it gets to the RFP stage, you lost.
Great business to business marketers (and profitable ones) make the sale long before that happens.
The RFP is an organizational punt, it’s a way of saying, “it’s all a commodity, we can’t decide, cheap guy wins.”
The cheap guy, of course, never wins.
