Yes, I’m Irritated (again). Back in July the .ME domain registrar opened for business. I saw a few great investment opportunities in snapping up some prime “mycooldomainname.me” real estate. I blogged about it here.

So, I was irritated (and amazed) that I lost out then and came away empty-handed in my search for the ultimate .ME domain (OK, forget the ultimate name, I eventually would have settled for just about any lousydomainname.me)

So imagine my irritation now. In the news yesterday. The following sales of domain names were concluded:-

Date.me $70,000
Ask.me $20,000
clairvoyant.me $2,000
Publishing.me $2,500
Jazz.me $5,700
Show.me $10,000
Marry.me $12,000
Meeting.me $11,570

Whoah - that’s cracking Return on Investment of the ten dollars per name. See why I am so keen on domains as a speculative investment vehicle?!

Oh, by the way, what’s the deal with clairvoyant.me? Is clairvoyant now a verb?

Oh my … a totally self-driving car.

You have to watch this clip. The developers say this’ll be common place within 10 years. I love it!

I wonder if they will have driver “modes”. Let’s say I am feeling chilled, and not in a hurry so I flick the switch into “Chilled”, or I’m late, or feeling a little road-ragey, so I flick it into “Aggresive”.

Maybe there’s settings for “Granny Mode” where you go slowly, but leave a trail of destruction behind you. Or even “Mini-bus” mode - fast, loads of swerving, random stopping and shooting the occasional traffic light.

This was my situation yesterday - one thing leading to another. Dozens, maybe hundreds of micro-tasks. All day long driving at perhaps 1 or 2 major goals or missions - but all chopped up into tiny little bits.

It’s so easy to get lost along the way. So Steven Covey’s words are a good reminder, “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.” Right, what was that again?
