Steve Job’s, spin doctor of note!
Apple pushed out this press release this week to try and clarify their position on not allowing Flash on the iPhone, iPad and iPods. Most techies have been following the stories intricate twists and turns over the last month or so. And almost all of us have an opinion: “oh, it’s just Apple protecting their patch”, “Apple doesn’t like competition”, “Apple is just sorting out an old Adobe vs Apple stand-off,” yada yada.
I didn’t bother to read “the letter” till today, and whilst there’s nothing new in it (technically) that you haven’t read elsewhere, wow, it’s a masterpiece of writing. It’s written in Job’s speaking style - casual but deliberate. It’s so structured - opening statements, resting points at regular intervals, closing argument - man, it’s good.

OK, so why the zen bones thing?

About 20 years ago I stumbled upon a book called "Zen Flesh, Zen Bones". Being vegetarian - the "flesh" bit didn't grab me, but the short pithy Zen stories inside it, did.

Ever since then my web nick has been zenbones, my Hotmail, my Gmail address, you name it. It's kinda stuck.

Is the blog about Zen? Nope.
