zen bones...

OK, so why the zen bones thing?

About 20 years ago I stumbled upon a book called "Zen Flesh, Zen Bones". Being vegetarian - the "flesh" bit didn't grab me, but the short pithy Zen stories inside it, did.

Ever since then my web nick has been zenbones, my Hotmail, my Gmail address, you name it. It's kinda stuck.

Is the blog about Zen? Nope.

Early Bird Special: R285.00

Early Bird Special: R285.00

Amount Due: R287.00

Amount Due: R287.00

Early Bird Special!

I have been meaning to post these pics I took of my PO Box reminder.

“Amount due: R287.00. If paid before Dec 2009 you only pay R285.00

Seriously!

What the heck were the South African Post Office thinking?

A whole 2 Rand saving! What can you actually do with 2 rondt these days? Back in the days when 2 rondt looked like this, you could probably buy a movie ticket or something. But in 2010?

Did the South African Post Office sales & marketing executive really think that this would be an incentive for me to rush over and stand in the queue to get this incredible cash saving? I am sure the additional processing cost and admin on the transaction with early bird discount costs more than R2.

Oy vey.
