Shame, poor Amazon, they must feel so left out. No one is suing them. Yet.

And in other news today… Apple started shipping a micro USB power adapter which will allow you to charge your iPhone from some other phone’s micro-USB charger. Yawn.
Oh well, I suppose it does mean they are supporting the EU deal for standardised chargers.

The most startling thing here isn’t Apple’s marketshare and growth (as the article is focusing on), but how Nokia’s smartphone marketshare skidded from 38% to 15% in one year!
Plot that on a trendline and it doesn’t look good for Nokia at all by this time next year!

Looks like CellC just upped their game in South Africa!

Cool new service - wonder how MTN and Vodacom are going to respond to this?

Mobile web stats in South Africa

The numbers:

42m mobile subscribers.

31m web-enabled phones.

15m people browsing the mobile web.

That’s a big audience. And huge potential too.

zen bones...

OK, so why the zen bones thing?

About 20 years ago I stumbled upon a book called "Zen Flesh, Zen Bones". Being vegetarian - the "flesh" bit didn't grab me, but the short pithy Zen stories inside it, did.

Ever since then my web nick has been zenbones, my Hotmail, my Gmail address, you name it. It's kinda stuck.

Is the blog about Zen? Nope.
