Wow! New light field cameras coming this year!
It’s seldom new tech actually really surprises me. It’s not because of anything but that most new tech is old tech just bumped up a notch. It’s incremental. Think data networks and mobile phones… 2G, Edge, 3G, HSDPA, 4G, LTU, ABC, XYZ… yada yada. It’s all a progression. Wireless data, just faster.
Along comes the Lytra camera. Boom. Cameras will never be the same again. This new world first “light field” camera for the masses is sure to shake things up.
Once you’ve had a look at the article, their website, then play around with the sample images here http://www.lytro.com/pictures/lyt-8/ Go on. Click on a spot in the foreground, background. Double click to zoom in. Nice huh?

The Nine Eyes of Google Street View
Wow, these Google Streetview images of people and places are startling!
There’s a saying that fact is stranger than fiction. These images are a testament to that.
Warning: some of them are bizarre, naked, just plain weird and are an addictive if you have a voyeuristic tendency.

Finding beauty in ugly
Yep, I know it’s horrific. The oil spill, I mean. I know zillions of creatures have suffered and died and livelihoods have been destroyed.
But. It is possible to look at this picture and see the beautiful colours and textures. And. Just briefly be in admiration of the artistry. Just briefly.
