“Consumers didn’t ask for tablets” - Forrester Research

When I read a piece of “research” like this from the so-called experts (eg Gartner, Forrester, and the like) I am just reminded how disconnected these research houses are from reality.

They remind me of academics telling business people just “how things are in business”…

So back to this article. They’re saying it’s impossible for Apple to sell any more than a total of 3.5 million iPads because, “consumers didn’t ask for tablets”. Seriously. Did we ask for iPhones? Or iPods? Or iAnything? Anyway because we didn’t ask for such new tech innovations, somehow magically we just won’t buy them. Hello?! What planet are you “researchers” on?

Luckily Apple or Google or even Microsoft for that matter are probably not listening too carefully to your predictions. Especially Apple, since they have already sold 3 million iPads in the last 80 days. Yep Forrester, only 500,000 more will be sold for the rest of the year. Oh wait, you probably didn’t tell us consumers not to buy them.

OK, so why the zen bones thing?

About 20 years ago I stumbled upon a book called "Zen Flesh, Zen Bones". Being vegetarian - the "flesh" bit didn't grab me, but the short pithy Zen stories inside it, did.

Ever since then my web nick has been zenbones, my Hotmail, my Gmail address, you name it. It's kinda stuck.

Is the blog about Zen? Nope.
